  9. DANNY WILD Hi, I am Dany Wild an
  10. electronic Music Producer and
  11. Commodore freak for the past 27 Years.

  13. CF. Can you tell our readers how you
  14. came across the Commodore brand of
  15. computers?
  16.  
  17. DW. The C64 was the one and only
  18. Computer for German kids in the 80s, I
  19. received my C64 in 1982.
  20.  
  21. CF. Do you still own and use a
  22. Commodore machine?
  23.  
  24. DW. Yes I use my original C64 for some
  25. sound programming and to have fun with
  26. the original Commodore Flavour.
  27. Sometimes I also watch old Demos & play
  28. some Commodore Games.

  30. CF. What is so special about the SID
  31. sound?
  32.  
  33. DW. He sounds awesome, very precise,
  34. many sided in Sounds, and Sounds very
  35. special!

  37. CF. Are you a professional dj/remixer
  38. i.e. is this your main income?
  39.  
  40. DW Yes . I create a lot of Club music,
  41. mostly Electro House . My home base
  42. Label is Sugaspin Rec. in Hamburg .I
  43. also create other different Projects
  44. on other international Labels.

  46. CF. What hardware and software is used
  47. for the remix process?
  48.  
  49. DW Yamaha 02R Studio Digital Mixer,
  50. PC with Logic, some Hardware Synth
  51. Waldorf Q, Yamaha AN1x, NordLead
  52. and as I need some older analog Synth
  53. sounds I use some very good VST Plugs
  54. like the Quadra Synth (very good SID
  55. Emulation), EXS24 with my own Sample
  56. Libary of SID sounds.

  58. CF. Do you just remix SID tunes?

  60. DW  No. mostly I Remix other Artists of
  61. the international Club Scene
  62.  
  63. CF. How do you decide what samples to
  64. use in the remix and which sections of
  65. music to include from the original
  66. composition?

  68. DW  Ohhh difficult to decide. I test
  69. so many sounds and parts before I
  70. finally make a choice.

  72. CF. Do you Sample the real SID sounds
  73. to produce the remixes or are the
  74. sections re-played on synthesisers?

  76. DW. I do both.

  78. CF. Your music is very heavily
  79. Compressed, is this a conscious
  80. decision, can you explain compression
  81. to our reader?

  83. DW. Yes absolutely. I love massive
  84. compression! For the same channel I
  85. often use 3 different compressors to
  86. find the right result.

  88. CF. How much commercial success with
  89. any of our remixes?

  91. DW. Success is relative, I dont make
  92. Millions of Euro if thats what you
  93. mean... lol I had some Number one
  94. Positions with my Music in the charts.

  96. CF. Do you create original music of
  97. your own compositions using Commodore
  98. Machines?

  100. DW. No I didn't transform my Club
  101. Tracks to SID.

  103. CF. Do you create SID music files our
  104. user can listen to?

  106. DW. Sorry No I haven't.

  117. music and what is your favourite SID

  120. DW. I like so much Music and SID Files,
  121. my favourite Club Song this weekend
  122. is If you Love-Jewelz & Meesh and my
  123. all time Favourite SID Music is the
  124. Stuff of Future Freak from Dexion!
  125. yeahhh I love his style & I wonder why
  126. his music isn't well known.

  129. inclined what is the best way to start
  130. remixing Commodore SID files?

  132. DW  First you need much enthusiasm for
  133. the good old Sounds and Songs! Then you
  134. must know what you want to do with it.
  135. Do you wanna play it with a Guitar or
  136. do you wanna combine it with Trance
  137. Melodies? My way is definitely that I
  138. wanna hear the old SID Sounds and
  139. Melodies in my C= Remixes. I combine
  140. the SID with my Club Style & the result
  141. is that I can play the old SID Songs
  142. with a new flavor at Clubs & Partys.

  145. loaded remixes or even a CD you have
  146. with the remixed files?

  148. DW  No, I didn't release my SID remixes
  149. commercial. If someone wants to have it

  165. as resident DJ in the Gigaparc in
  166. Dlmen Germany

  168. CF How long have you been a Dj/remixer
  169. and have things changed much since you
  170. started?

  172. DW I started work in 1989

  174. CF. Do you think its important to
  175. promote Commodore machines?
  176.  
  177. Yes, because its better that Commodore
  178. exist as a Computer Company than we say
  179. they are dead and someone uses the Logo
  180. for Coffee machines. Also its good to
  181. see that the new Commodore Company
  182. cares about her history & do something
  183. for it.

  185. CF Some people would argue that you
  186. were using other peoples creativity
  187. for your own gains. Would you like to
  188. comment about this?

  190. DW I think they didn't understand me,
  191. I love the old Tracks & want to keep
  192. the SID/Commodore spirit alive. The
  193. only way to do that is to use the old
  194. Songs & Sounds.

  196. CF. Do you think people look at
  197. Commodore related music and just think
  198. its all for geeks?

  200. DW If you listen the original SID
  201. Tracks, Yes they are geek stuff.
  202. That's why I combine it with fresh
  203. Clubby Beats & Bass. Now the younger
  204. Generation/people accept it & Dance to
  205. it.

  210. DW  Keep the good old Computer Times
  211. alive , Atari, Commodore, Amiga,
  212. Apple, .... whatever.
